Community

As a health-related community organization, community member or a patient with a chronic health condition, there multiple ways for you to get involved in the Patient and Community Voices project.

Workshops

Become a community educator at an interprofessional workshop and get involved in the education of future health and human service professionals. Being a community educator gives you a chance to share your voice and your story with UBC students. Community educators are the life force of the PCV project. Without you our workshops would not be possible. Learn more about our workshops.

Community & Patient Fair

The Community and Patient Fair is part of UBC’s Celebrate Learning Week and is a one-day interprofessional event that connects community-based organizations and patient support groups with students and faculty at UBC. As a health-related community organization, take part as an exhibitor in next year’s Community and Patient Fair, or as an individual community member or patient with a chronic health condition, share your story with UBC health and human service students during a patient panel at the Fair.

Want to be more involved? As a community member living with a chronic condition or disability, you can also bring your insight and expertise to the project by sitting on our  the Community and Patient Fair Planning Committee. For more information on how you can get involved, please contact the project coordinator.

Health Mentors

Looking for an opportunity to connect with UBC health and human service students on an ongoing basis? As a patient or community member living with a chronic disease or disability, become a health mentor and share your experiences with a small group of interprofessional health professional students over a period of 16 months.
Learn more about the Health Mentors Program.
